Settle & close
Settling an event recognises revenue and posts the accounting voucher; completed events are then locked from edits. Managers can reverse a mistaken settlement — it reverses the voucher and re-opens the event to "confirmed".
Refunds & cancellations
Refund a held deposit back to a client (DR Banquet Advance Deposits / CR cash), clamped to the amount actually held and recorded as a negative payment. Cancelling a settled event auto-reverses its revenue voucher so no phantom revenue remains; advance deposits stay parked as a refund-owed liability until refunded.
Shift-safe payments
Payments tied to a closed cashier shift are protected from deletion until the shift is reopened — so a settled day's cash stays exactly as the cashier left it.
